Mission X

Mr David Bunyan has been coming into school this term to teach children about Astronaunts, (Mission X) through PE and science activities.

The children went to the Grand in Clitheroe for a 'grand finale' of the Astronaunt sessions.  At the Grand, Bowland High School students did a presentation about The Planets, children launched rockets and interviewed an astronaunt LIVE through Skype.

Children have thoroughly enjoyed Mission X.

Internet Safety Day 2013

Tuesday 5th February 2013

       How our school got involved:

  • all children completed a questionnaire about internet use and safety
  • Years 5 & 6 had a debate about the pros and cons of internet use
  • a persuasive letter was written and sent home to invite parents to an internet safety information event after school
  • Years 5 & 6 prepared a powerpoint and informative material for the event, which they lead with confidence and enthusiasm
  • the juniors gave internet safety stickers and activities to the infants on the day

Thank you to all parents and relatives who attended our internet safety event!

We got very positive feedback, several parents expressed how they were very impressed at how hard the children had worked!

Class Worship

Each week 3 children from the juniors prepare a class worship based on either the weekly statement or the value by which are trying to live by as a school.  They then present their class worship at Friday's assembly.  All children are on a rota.  They can choose a prayer to read, a poem or a story from the Bible, perhaps they may choose to draw some pictures, make a powerpoint presentation, light a candle, sing a hymn... The choice is theirs.
